Weekly Programs
Programs at the Austin Buddhist Vihara scheduled on a weekly basis through out the year.
The Vas Kalaya will begin on July 19th and end on full moon day, 15th November 2008.
The Venerable Panditha Yatagama Sumanajothi Nayaka
Thero will observe traditional 'Vas Kalaya'( retreat period ) for three
months, beginning Friday, August 1st, at the Vihara
You are cordially invited to participate in the religious activities
scheduled to begin at 7.30 p.m. at the Vihara.
"Buddha Pooja"
Offerings and recitation conducted by the resident
monks.
The Third year "Vassana "Kalaya" will be initiated with a ceremony at the Vihara on July 19th 2008.
Beginning the 1st of August until the end of this three month period of "Vassana Kalaya" the daily Buddha Pooja will begin at 7.30pm on Monday through Friday and at 6.15pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Dhamma school and learning Sinhala
Lessons in Buddhism, Buddhist history and lessons in Sinhala for school aged children.
Every 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month from 9.00am to 10.30am
Lessons in "Abhidamma"
A series of advanced classes for adults on Buddhism.
