Poya Day Religious Events for 2008
The Vas Kalaya will begin on July 19th and end on full moon day, 15th November 2008.
The religious activities
on August 16th will be conducted by Venerable Yatagama Sumanajothi Nayaka Thero
DAY: Saturday August 16, 2008
- 7.30am - Sil: Observation of the eight precepts
- 8.00am - Offering of Morning Buddha Pooja. The Pooja consists of food prepared mainly from milk, for the offering to 'The Twenty Eight Previous Buddhas'.
- 9.00am - 10.00 am :Dhamma sermon in Singhala
- 10.15am- 11.00 am :Meditation
- 11.00am- Buddha Pooja: "Midday Offering to Lord Buddha" followed by "Dane" (midday meal) for the monks and those devotees observing the Eight Precepts of Dhamma.
- 1.00pm - 1.30pm :Meditation
- 1.45pm - 3.00pm :Dhamma Discussion(conducted in Singhala)
- 3.00p.m.-4.00p.m :Dhamma Sermon (conducted in Singhala)
- 4.00p.m. -5.00 p.m. : Children's Program
- 5.00 p.m. : Bodhi Puja
